Once again we are too late
To see Black Life as Human Life
Get used to being Late —
It will be that way until we
connect our white
heavens to black hells.
Can we see?
How we talk
how hire private security,
what we believe,
where we charge entry,
how we assume priority,
where we live
where we go to school,
what we learn,
what we eat
who we vote for,
who we love,
What we have,
how we organize our cities,
who we let speak first
how we wish to “move on”
how we immigrate to (Australia, England,
New Zealand, etc)
how we live individualistic lives,
Is all a white knee,
suffocating Black life.
Can we see it?
