PASTORS TRAINING IN NYANGA AND GUGULETHU

Pastors Skills Training: The pastors from Nyanga and Gugulethu who participated in the coursePastors Skills Training: The pastors from Nyanga and Gugulethu who participated in the course

On the 20 and 21st of February we completed the last components of a Pastors skills training programme hosted by the Nyanga and Gugulethu ministers fraternal. 30 pastors from this community attended a series of workshops on financial management, governance, community development, fundraising and computer literacy. The training programme was hosted at The Warehouse’s favourite venue these days - Maphindi’s Butchery #1. Caterware, a Cape Town catering supply company, provided the funding making it possible to run the course at an affordable cost for the pastors.

During December 2007 The Warehouse distributed nearly 400 individualised Christmas presents to children involved in the Care for Kids programme.
"On the 1st of December not one present had entered The warehouse and we were trusting God for over 350 presents and as many people as necessary to pack them before delivery day on the 12th December. By the 10th of December volunteers had wrapped the 391 presents needed for the Care for Kids project! Beautiful presents were delivered from a wide range of different churches and so many people, both young and old have given their time to wrap them all up." -Caroline, Urban Gleaning Coordinator

Love Packs and the St Johns Parish PATT teams
On the 4th Thursday of each month the St John's Parish AIDS Task Team spend an afternoon making up over 100 Love Packs. Approximately 900 packs are sent out monthly to families caring for orphans and vulnerable children or those infected and affected with HIV. If you're interested in seeing exactly what goes into a Love Pack, take a look at Love Pack contents under Urban Gleaning.
