WELSH BLITZ BUILD

A team of volunteers from Wales, inspired by the Rev Nick Jones and his wife Chris, will be building a Habitat for Humanity house in Mfuleni. The church from which they are coming has raised the funds for the house and it is now time to build it. We praise God that the needs of shack dwellers in our city are on the hearts of folk living so far away.

The team of 12 will need some additional assistance, so there is space for 4 - 5 volunteers to be able to join the team each day.

The Blitz Build is during the week of 20th - 24th August 2007. Even if you can only help on 1 day or a morning this will be appreciated.

Building on Faith 2007

This year Building on Faith was in the Community of Mfuleni. The Parish of St Johns committed to build one of the houses during the Blitz Build.

From the 10th to the 14th of September the Parish of St John’s in Wynberg took part in the Habitat for Humanity Blitz Build (which is building a house in five days), and built a house in Mfuleni. 15 volunteers from the Parish worked for each full day of the build, creating a strong and affordable house for Mannetjie and Florence, two proud new home owners.

Prayer : Unless the Lord builds the house ,its builders labour in vain.( Psalm 127:1 )
