Although community development has unique outcomes in different communities, we are identifying systematic needs in society that require carefully designed solutions that can be implemented by any community. Therefore, we are developing church-based solutions to these systematic needs in cases where no other solutions exist, and where we believe we are being called to do so. Our intention is to implement these projects in the churches we work with, and also to make them available to the broader church. We are currently working on four such projects:

Care for Kids

Care for Kids works to see churches caring for the orphans and vulnerable children in their communities. The growing challenge of orphans, largely due to HIV/AIDS needs new solutions that can care for children holistically and cost effectively.
Care for Kids provides care to over 300 children in partnership with five churches across Cape Town.

Wetton Road Men Project

The Wetton Road Men project is working towards the spiritual, economic and personal transformation of the unemployed men of the Wetton Lansdowne Philippi Corridor. This is achieved through a weekly advice office and church service, business and skills development, community based prayer/action groups for unemployed men and assisting the men access job markets.

Fusion

Fusion is a project working with high risk youth in gang dominated areas by establishing praying communities of young people interested in seeing their communities transformed. Fusion is currently working in Manenberg and Heideveld.

WorkSpring

Unemployment is the “Goliath” of the giants facing South Africa in this generation, when Goliath falls then the rest flee. WorkSpring is seeking to work with existing and startup businesses and entrepreneurs within churches to help their businesses grow, thus creating more jobs. The entrepreneurs in our community are those who have been gifted by God to create work, we need to support them in this vocation.
