SUMMARY:Concrete Solutions: Reflections on the N2 Wall
DESCRIPTION:The proposed N2 Wall in Cape Town has sparked intense debate about safety\, crime\, and the long-term realities of structural poverty in communities along the N2 corridor. Walls have a long and complicated history in South Africa and cannot be understood apart from the legacies of apartheid spatial planning\, economic inequality\, and the lived realities of those who live in the communities that border the N2. Join us for this online seminar where we explore how an historically conscious\, contextual theological response can help us to imagine an alternate vision for our city. \nPresenters: Selena Headley (The Warehouse)\, Craig Stewart (Worldvision)\, Mzwandile Nkuta (Iziko Lamaqabane)\, and Ryan Saville (Renew Church) \n  \nDate: Tuesday\, 10 March \nTime: 19:30-21:00 \nCost: Pay what you can – suggested donation R100 \nBooking Link: https://www.quicket.co.za/events/361140-concrete-solutions-theological-reflections-on-the-n2-wall/  \nUse the Free Ticket option to book your ticket and then use the Donation button to pay what you can afford. \nNB: Once you have booked\, you will receive an email from Quicket with the login details for the event.

SUMMARY:Exploring Jubilee as a Paradigm for Liberation & Flourishing
DESCRIPTION:Exploring Jubilee as a Paradigm for Liberation and Flourishing.\nEvery fifty years\, ancient Israel was called to do something extraordinary: cancel debts\, free the enslaved\, return land\, and break the intergenerational cycles of poverty and exclusion. But this radically subversive vision of Jubilee was never meant to be economic policy alone. It was a declaration of who God is\, what God’s world is meant to look like\, and what it means to be God’s liberated people.  \nIn Part One\, John Scheepers traces this Jubilee thread through Scripture\, from its ancient Near Eastern roots\, through the prophets\, to the explosive Nazareth sermon of Luke 4 and the radical economic sharing of the early church in Acts. In Part Two\, Thandi Gamedze brings this paradigm to bear on urgent contemporary realities\, such as apartheid spatial planning\, land restitution\, educational disparities\, and the crisis in Gaza. Join us for this online seminar where we explore what this ancient\, radical vision demands of us in this present moment.  \nPresenters: \nJohn Scheepers and Thandi Gamedze. \nHost:\nZenzile Molo \n\nDate: Tuesday\, 23 June\nTime: 19:30-21:00\nCost: Pay what you can – suggested donation R100\n\nBooking Link: \nhttps://www.quicket.co.za/events/376293-exploring-jubilee-as-a-paradigm-for-liberation-and-flourishing/
