Micah Global Consultation 2025

Registration is now open for the 9th Micah Global Consultation.

The purpose of Micah Global Consultation is to engage together in prayerful and reflective dialogue, exploring:

• the challenges and opportunities for justice and mercy that are currently facing our sector and the Church in the world;
  our understanding of Christian hope;
• a vision for walking together in changing contexts;
• guidelines and agreements on ways we will organise ourselves for joint action at thematic, country, regional and global levels.
• Our exploration and conversations will be in plenary sessions, with thematic tracks for humanitarian response, development, creation care, advocacy.

The programme for each day (Monday to Thursday) will start at 9am and run through to 5pm. Please note that there are currently some post-Consultation interest groups that are planning to meet on Friday 3 October. We will let you know about these as soon as possible in case they are of interest to you.

The Consultation will plant seeds of understanding a deeper collaboration in working together as Micah Global Members. Such findings will then be developed through post consultation discussions in the formation of a Charter that strengthens our convictions of faith in communal action.

REGISTRATION: The Consultation is open to Micah Members and invited Friends of Micah. In order to register you will need a user account on Micah Hub, our online networking platform. All Members and Friends are eligible for such an account. So if you don’t yet have one, please contact Janet Lubbe, our Membership Coordinator, on Janet@micahglobal.org and she will create an account for you.

REGISTRATION FEE: The registration fee is USD $400. There is a reduced fee of USD $300 for participants currently in difficult financial situations. Participants self-select which amount they will pay.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN YOUR REGISTRATION FEE: The registration fee covers the 4-day Consultation with lunch each day (29 Sept – 2 Oct).

WHAT IS EXCLUDED FROM THE REGISTRATION FEE: Meals other than lunch, accommodation, travel and any costs of attending such as visa fees and travel insurance.

ACCOMMODATION: Participants are required to select and book their own accommodation directly, preferably within or close to the area of Cape Town known as Century City. This is where the Consultation will be held and there are many hotels and private letting options available through online booking sites. We recommend that you reserve your accommodation as early as possible as Century City is a popular conference area. If you want to check if a particular accommodation option is suitably located and has transport connections to the venue or is within walking distance, please email events@micahglobal.org and we can advise you.

TRAVEL: We recommend that you arrive by Sunday 28 September as the Consultation starts at 9am on Monday 29 September. Cape Town International Airport is the closest airport to the Consultation venue and is well served with flights from around the world, offered by many different airlines. Please check your visa requirements for entering South Africa. The Micah Secretariat will provide visas support letters on request. Email events@micahglobal.org.
