Food insecurity is a persistent and systemic challenge in South Africa, particularly in township and rural communities. Hunger is not merely a lack of food; it is a form of slow violence, rooted in historical dispossession, inequitable land distribution, and global economic systems that prioritise profit over people.
Equipping churches and leaders with tools for transformation
LEADERSHIP FORMATION
The Warehouse’s work is primarily focused on capacity building, participatory development, and nurturing collective impact rather than service delivery.
We offer specialised training programmes designed to equip church leaders and communities to become agents of transformation in their contexts. Our approach is focused on three core strategic areas:
- LEADERSHIP FORMATION – The formation and support of leaders in churches, with a focus on younger leaders, women and those working in economically under-resourced communities
- EQUIPPING LOCAL CHURCHES – The mobilisation and equipping of local church congregations to catalyse and nurture community initiatives in collaboration with civil society.
- CONNECTING CHURCHES AND LEADERSÂ – Maintaining and connecting local and national networks of churches and leaders that enable shared learning, coordinated action and collective impact to address systemic challenges facing communities.
